The work on the ute is progressing well. Con and the guys at CAE sent me some photos today of the current status of the ute. Click on the photos above to see the current stage of the ute. The ute should be finished soon.

Check the new headlights out and the air-conditioning setup, and how the wiring loom is setup and how neat the kick panel has been made for all the relays.

Today I received an email from Castle Auto Electrics and it was not good news..

It read.

Hi Jason you are most likely aware that Jake is onto finishing the wiring and we have got to the stage where we have prepared the engine for starting.
We started this morning no worries but the crank shaft is hitting the sump real bad so we can't run it or else it will cause damage. Please advise via
email or phone what you want to do.

Motor Removal

The problem with sump has now been fixed, it appeared that when the motor was put in, it must have been placed on the cross member, creating a dent in it. The guys at Castle Auto Electrics removed the motor and took the sump off and repaired it. Whilst the motor was out I had the Crank angle sensor replaced and harmonic balancer replaced, both major parts that were always a problem with the Commodore V6 motor. The motor is back in and appears to be fine now.

Picking the Car up

On Monday 1st October, 2007 a public holiday here in Canberra (Labor Day) I will be driving down to Castlemaine (with a car trailer). I will be staying in Bendigo the night. On Tuesday 2 October 2007 I will be picking the car up and returning it to Canberra.

I will post pics of the return to Canberra.
